TerryAllen Farms offers lessons in the beautiful Litchfield Hills. We have horses for all levels as well as instructors that are trained to teach everyone from a first-timer in the saddle to an experienced rider looking to polish their skills. We endeavor to create unforgettable, fun and educational experiences for all of our participants!

In additions to lessons, we also offer leasing packages on a variety of  horses and ponies appropriate for all ages, abilities, and skill levels.

Instructors

The primary instructor at TerryAllen Farms LLC is Samantha Borkoski.  Samantha has received her Associates Degree in Stable Management/Equine Studies at Southern Virginia College in Buena Vista, VA.  Samantha was a member of the Intercollegiate Riding Team for the College.  She received the High Point Equitation Rider Award in 1998.

Samantha has been recently showing her horses in local Connecticut, New England and neighboring state horse shows.  She has been an instructor at TerryAllen Farms LLC since 1998, and since its inception, has been the Coach of the TerryAllen Farms IEA Team.  She currently has one riding student, Riley Babb, who won IEA Nationals in Syracuse, NY this past year.  Assisting Samantha with the Riding Programs will be Abby Krudwig and Riley Babb, who are members of the TerryAllen Farms IEA Team.

Riding Style Taught

Our lessons are taught using the English riding style. which features a flat English saddle without the deep seat, high cantle or saddle horn found on a Western saddle.

Clothing

All riders are required to wear jeans (or riding pants, if the child owns a pair – shorts are not allowed), and boots with a heel.  Loose tops are not ideal riding gear.  If your child owns a riding helmet, please have her/him bring it to the sessions.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation Policy – We have a stringent 24 hour cancellation policy on all lessons. If you do not cancel or reschedule your lesson at least 24 hours in advance of the scheduled lesson time you will be charged the full price of the lesson.
